Job Description

BMA Banking Systems is a provider of core banking software and services. We are seeking a talented and experienced PHP programmer to join our team for development and expansion of our core product, BankRite™. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in PHP development with a minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience. The candidate should also be proficient in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript, as well as SQL database management. Experience with developing API endpoints and infrastructure is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain our proprietary banking web applications and systems using PHP, SQL, and web technologies.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with team members to design and implement new features as well as maintain existing systems.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Embrace Agile principles and practices to promote transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot, debug, test, and resolve issues that surface in our existing applications.
• Ensure the security and integrity of our applications and APIs.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in web development.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in PHP development.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• API endpoint development and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of jQuery or other frameworks.
• Understanding of Composer and common PHP libraries.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Strong understanding of banking and accounting principles.

Bonus Experience:

• Experience with IBM DB2.
• Experience with IBM RPG ILE, CL, and Stored Procedures.
