The Opportunity

We are seeking a Sr Software Engineer / Sr Full Stack Developer to join our client’s team in Falls Church, VA. Founders are engineers, and the majority of the team members are engineers. The team is flat in hierarchy, and you will likely have more autonomy over your code than you were previously accustomed to. You won’t be just fixing bugs or maintaining existing codebase – you will be building exciting new features, analyzing metrics, re-designing complex interfaces, and making important technical and product decisions.


What You’ll Do
  • Write clean, quality, and secure code based on product requirements

  • Build interactive web applications, APIs, and algorithms

  • Optimize performance and browser compatibility

  • Ensure technical decisions support our client’s goals of quality, scalability, reliability, security, and high performance

  • Work with a team of engineers and help meet deadlines

  • Mentor other engineers


What You Bring
  • A degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

  • Prior work in a SaaS software platform as a full-stack or back-end developer, building web applications and enterprise software

  • Hands-on programming experience with Javascript, ReactJS, JQuery, Bootstrap, Redis, and building RESTful APIs, AJAX

  • Solid experience with LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) or LEMP stack, and excellent command-line skills on Linux

  • Skilled in building highly scalable, load-balanced web applications (well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms)

  • Experience with SQL stored procedures, database architecture, microservices, message queues (such as RabbitMQ)

  • Knowledge of container technology (docker) and cloud services (IaaS, PaaS), AWS, Elastic Search

  • Experience using third-party testing tools and frameworks and working with version control systems such as GIT, Bitbucket

  • Ability to work 3 days/week in an office in Falls Church, VA


Nice to Have  
  • Experience with a security-tech or privacy-tech company 

  • Experience with NoSQL/Hadoop/Hive/HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.

  • Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or AI Algorithms

  • Contribution to open-source projects

  • Hands-on experience with encryption algorithms and vulnerability assessment tools
